Understanding 9/11Assessment and diagnosis of insomnia for clinical and research practice: a scoping review protocol

1- This is the first comprehensive scoping review to synthesize evidence of useful tools for insomnia assessment by nurses.
2- The proposed scoping review will be conducted in accordance to the Joanna Briggs Institute rigor methods, published in 2020, following the nine steps of scoping review process proposed by Peters et al (2020).
3- This protocol intends to use the recently published Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews Checklist, that will be detailing the flow from search, through source selection and presentation of the evidence.
4- An exhaustive review of literature will be conducted with support from a research librarian with expertise in scoping review search and in Insomnia in eight databases.
5- This is a scoping review, therefore, the quality of evidence, effectiveness of interventions/therapies and risk of bias will not be assessed. Beyond this, will be selected only publications written in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French due the shortage of studies in other languages.
